H2O2 Bio-decontamination



Highly effective infection and contamination prevention


The room decontamination with  H2O2 is a very quick, inexpensive and cost-saving method which is now considerably more than an effective and safe alternative to the complicated formaldehyde standard.


The bio-decontamination itself is an environmentally friendly, highly effective disinfection procedure of spaces that is compatible with a great variety of materials, while not leaving behind any visible residues. In the last phase of the bio-decontamination process hydrogen peroxide easily breaks down into water and oxygen.


DIOP's cold fogging technology is based on gaseous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which destroys the entire spectrum of biological agents (bacteria, virus and moulds) on dry, precleaned porous and nonporous surfaces including sensitive electronics.


The DIOP bio-decontamination is not only suitable for rooms and areas where manual disinfection is very costly or not secure enough, but according to hygiene experts also:

  • for surfaces which cannot be disinfected satisfactory
  • in clean rooms to minimize work-related recontamination through disinfection personnel as employees constantly emit bacteria from their flora, despite protective clothing
  • for the purpose of dust control (three-dimensional disinfection)


During the decontamination process, all DIOP disinfection systems are being disinfected themselves and are therefore particularly suitable for cleanrooms in the pharmaceutical industry.
